ketchup {catch-up}

Since I last posted….

Last Friday was my birthday… I’m now 53. Not really a big deal, but I was trying to think back to when my Dad was my age and I remembered it was about this time in his life when he really began to feel “the slow-down.” Although I’ve tried to deny it, I know that’s what I’m feeling now. It actually began creeping up on me when I was in my mid-40s, but now it’s really caught up with me. Which led to the gift I got from my kids for my birthday… because I gave them hints a few weeks ago… that I really, really wanted a bicycle. A certain one from Walmart. I also planted the hint-seed that it would be very easy on them if all four of them shared the cost. The surprise was, they did get it for me!

I can’t wait for the weather to get warmer… and the snow to stay away… and I will be out riding! It’s been years since I had a bicycle! Thank you, John and Christen, Jeff and Amanda! You are sweet, sweet kids! And yes, I took it out for a quick… very quick, because it was so chilly… ride the next day. Fun!

Here’s what was on the whiteboard from son, John, when I woke up that morning…

The circles-squares-triangle things are confetti. Love that he added those, LOL!

On another note, look what I’ve started making… possibly to sell…

Yes, I made the one you see in the photos here. It’s a little something you can carry in your purse or other bag… and when your little one gets cranky, like during church, or in the doctor’s waiting room… you pull it out for your young’un, they open it and get to play with these…

Aren’t they cute!! Three little dollies, a blankie for them, and a tiny notebook {yes, it has paper… you provide something to draw with}. It’s a pattern I ordered a while back and just got around to doing this week. I’d been working on my own homemade pattern in the same type of idea when I came across it this one online. Today I worked on my own version, but don’t have it done. Too many interruptions and what-not. And it really is very thin and light-weight, perfect for inside mommy’s or grandma’s purse or bag…

Anyway… Since today was really nice, but not warm enough for a bike ride {drat, LOL!}, just a little chilly, but I walked over to the park and all the way around it, enjoying the sunshine and blue sky. Because tomorrow the weather is going to change. Snow. Maybe 4-8 inches or more. Phooey. Bleah.

This first picture is where the walking path goes underneath the street/bridge, so this is one of the thingies that holds it up {sorry, I’ve no idea what it’s called}… well, does it crack you up as much as it did me when I saw this? Someone drew a door, complete with a handle and “exit” sign. LOL!

The other side of that “door” is in the next two photos… what the ducks and geese are swimming in, LOL!

On around the park…

Till next time, God bless!

    Oh my goodness…the little doll roll up set is so precious! I have got to figure out how to make something for each of my little girls…I think they would be lifesavers for just those times you mentioned…church, dr. offices, etc. Thanks for the idea! Now…how does one make something like that…
